Commonly Asked Questions

  • My bed was delivered today and I've just noticed a dirty mark or some slight damage on it – what should I do?

    View Answer
As long as you get in contact with us within 3 days of the delivery we can usually do something to help. If you have a dirty mark, you will probably be able to wipe it off with a very slightly damp cloth or a duster. If the bed is damaged please contact us straight away and if we can't repair it we will arrange a replacement part to be sent to you.
  • My bed has developed a 'dip' where I sleep in it, is this a fault?

    View Answer
All furniture will compress slightly where the most pressure is placed upon it. In fact, many beds are designed so that the layers of upholstered fillings go through a process called 'settlement', to allow slight indentations to develop in your most common sleeping position.

This isn't a fault and is in fact a sign of a quality product and demonstrates the depth and luxury of the fillings in your bed. You can help even this process out by turning or rotating your mattress on a regular basis.
  • How do I know when my delivery will take place?

    View Answer
As soon as we have arranged your delivery, we'll send you an email to confirm the date that we're coming. If you have paid by credit or debit card, you will receive this email within 2 days of placing your order, whereas if you are paying using our flexible payment terms the delivery date will be confirmed once you have returned your signed documentation.

If the delivery date is not convenient for you, just drop us an email or a phone call and we'll arrange a new date later on.
  • Will my new bed be assembled for me?

    View Answer
We will deliver your order to the room of your choice, and as long as you want us to do so, we will assemble all divan beds. Our bedsteads are flat packed and require self-assembly – instructions will be included and it usually takes 2 people about an hour to put them together.
  • Can I have a specific delivery slot?

    View Answer
We'll call or text you 24-48 hours prior to your delivery (or even earlier if your delivery is just after a weekend) to let you know if we're coming in the morning or afternoon. We won't specify the delivery slot to any greater detail as our delivery vehicles are subject to the traffic and weather just the same as everyone else!
  • I'm not sure if my new bed will fit into my bedroom – what can I do to double check?

    View Answer
All our beds come in standard British bed sizes, which we've listed here for your reference:

    Single
    90cm x 190cm
    approx. 3ft x 6ft 3in

    Small Double
    120cm x 190 cm
    approx 4ft x 6ft 3in

    Double
    135cm x 190cm
    approx. 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in

    King Size
    150cm x 200cm
    approx. 5ft x 6ft 6in

    Super King Size
    180cm x 200cm
    approx. 6ft x 6ft 6in

When measuring your home to check if your new bed will fit, don't forget to take account of the following:

Will the bed fit through your front door, up and around your stairs and through your bedroom door as well as into the place that you intend to place it in your bedroom?

Contrary to what some people believe, mattresses do not bend and you should not rely on this to get the bed into your home.

Do not wait until the night before your delivery to measure your home – it might well be too late!!

The above measurements refer to the inside edges of your bedstead, so don't forget to add an extra couple of inches to the width and length of your bed, to take account of the frame.

If you think your bed might be too big – call or email us now. We can usually make a change as long as you let us know at least a week before the delivery. If the bed doesn't fit when we come to deliver, we may have to charge you to deliver a different sized product.
  • Will you take away my old bed?

    View Answer
Unfortunately, our delivery teams aren't insured to move old beds and we can't take them on our vans. If you contact your local store they may be able to put you in contact with an organisation who will take away your old bed, while many local councils also have furniture collection services.

You can find a full list of stores by using our store locator at the top of our homepage.
  • My bed says that it is 'non-turn', does this mean I never have to turn it?

    View Answer
Most of our mattresses are designed to be 'non-turn', which means that there is only one sleeping side and you don't need to struggle with it to flip it over. They will still need to be 'rotated' from top to toe weekly to begin with, and then every month or two thereafter. This will help even out the 'settlement' caused by constantly sleeping in the same position.
  • How long does my guarantee last?

    View Answer
All our full beds (divan beds and mattresses or bedsteads and mattresses bought together) come with a 5 year guarantee. However, all items bought on their own, headboards, the 'starter' mattress supplied free with many bedsteads, bedroom furniture, soft furnishings and linens, ex-display and clearance items are only covered by the guarantees or warranties supplied by the relevant manufacturers.
